A recent report by WABetaInfo states that the Meta Inc is testing a new feature for whatsapp that will enable users to edit messages up to 15 minutes after they send them

Currently, more than 2 billion users are on WhatsApp, making it one of the most popular instant messaging platforms in the world because of which its features are frequently updated. A recent report made by WABetaInfo states that the company behind WhatsApp i.e Meta Platforms, Inc. is testing a new feature for the platform that will enable users to edit messages up to 15 minutes after they send them, similar to the edit button in Apple’s iMessage app.

This edit feature will be useful for correcting spellings or grammatical errors or adding or removing information even after the user has sent the message. Although the feature is still in development, it was recently observed on WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.72, which was released for those enrolled in the TestFlight program. If users are running an older version of WhatsApp, they will receive a warning telling them that their version of WhatsApp is not compatible with the new feature, and the edited message will not be visible.

The developers are also reportedly developing another feature that will allow the users to edit media captions. It is not known when or if the edit message feature will be available to all users since it is currently under development.

A few days back, WhatsaApp also introduced support for transit solutions across India, rolled out PiP mode for video calls on iOS and a new Kept messages feature.
