Two new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, are set to be launched by Samsung in the coming months, along with new tablets, smartwatches, and possibly earbuds.
While details of these upcoming devices have been surfacing online, information about the selfie camera of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been revealed in a new report.
Galaxy Club has reported that a 10-megapixel selfie camera the same one in the Galaxy flip 4 will be used by Samsung for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, it remains unclear whether any changes to the camera’s other specifications, such as aperture and auto-focus technology, will be made on the Z Flip 5.
The larger cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to compensate for the lack of a selfie camera upgrade. It will be more convenient to capture higher-quality selfies using the rear camera than on previous Galaxy Z Flip smartphones due to the larger display.
Furthermore, Samsung could render a dedicated selfie camera somewhat unnecessary due to the larger cover display. Especially with the flexible capabilities of Samsung’s foldables, they could consider abandoning it altogether for a proper full-screen inner display on their flip-style foldables.
For normal users, the lack of an upgrade to the selfie camera on the new Flip 5 should not be a cause for concern. While an upgrade would be nice, it’s not crucial to the device’s overall functionality. With the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s impressive larger cover display, users can still take high-quality selfies using the main camera. The official release date of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 has not yet been officially confirmed. However, a recent leak suggests that Samsung may be planning to launch these devices earlier than expected. If the leak is to be believed, we could see the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 by the end of July
