Xiaomi has launched its new affordable offering, Redmi 12C in India. The company announced the Redmi 12C alongside the Redmi Note 12 4G in India, and it has a starting price of less than Rs. 10,000. The phone will go on sale from April 6, along with the Redmi Note 12 4G. At the launch, the smartphone will be available in four colors, including Matte Black, Mint Green, Royal Blue, and Lavender Purple. It features a big 6.71-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a screen resolution of 1,600×720.
Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 12C in two variants. The base variant, which is going to cost Rs 8,999, will offer 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The higher-end variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and will cost Rs 10,999.
The phone is available in four colors, including Matte Black, Mint Green, Royal Blue, and Lavender Purple.
Starting April 6 at 12 PM onwards, customers can buy the Redmi 12C from Flipkart, Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and other retail outlets. Xiaomi is offering a discount of Rs. 500 as part of the bank offers. There’s also an exchange bonus of Rs 500 on old Xiaomi and Redmi devices.
Redmi 12C Specifications
The Redmi 12C is driven by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with either 4GB or 6GB RAM as per the specific variant. It runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out-of-the-box and supports dual SIM.
It features a rocking 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display with a 60 Hz refresh rate for a smooth user experience and a 1,600×720 screen resolution, which has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a water drop notch that holds the front camera.
Users can expand the storage capacity up to 1TB by installing a microSD card, and the Virtual RAM feature expands the existing RAM by an additional 5GB.
The dual camera setup at the back of the Redmi 12C carries a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. For selfies, there is a 5-megapixel camera sitting inside the waterdrop notch. The phone also has a 5,000mAh capacity battery that supports 10W wired charging.
The Redmi 12C comes with various connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro-USB port. The phone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for additional security and various other sensors like an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, and an accelerometer.
It measures 168.76mm x 76.41mm x 8.77mm and has a weight of 192 grams. The phone is claimed to have an IP52 rating, making it resistant to water splashes.
